About Dee

If there were an animaholics anonymous, I’d have to be a member. Animation is something I’ve loved my whole life. I was definitely one of the early morning Saturday cartoon junkies–and still am, minus the early morning (God bless DVR and the Internet!). I was certain when I was young I’d grow up to be a cartoonist.

I hate to call myself a purist, but I generally prefer a more hand-drawn animated look as opposed to CG–though there are several CG animations I love (see The Incredibles). But for me, CG is a little overdone these days, so more of my focus will be on the old school method.

I love seeing new styles of animation, and I’m definitely not the “limited-to-anime-only” type. So please, send me links to your animations or ones on youtube that you love or anything, I’d love to take a look.

(August 25, 2008) I’ve decided to let this be mostly animation, sometimes just Dee. So you may hear from me and it may not have anything to do with animation in the slightest. But not to worry, I’ll still include animation.

  1. I don’t know how you were able to get your hands on the “ponyo” trailer, but you made me a happy girl. I’m a big fan of Miyazaki’s works (and anime in general). I hope it comes to the U.S. in theaters. I’m also a fan of hand-drawn animation, Disney should go back to it…

  2. Disney is going back to it. I think they remembered how the old formula always made money (hand-drawn animated musical) and they’re going back to making money. I’ll post an article on it here after I get my Comic-Con diary up.

I’m excited for Ponyo too. I have to shamefully admit I’ll prob buy a HK version sometime in December/January before waiting for it to get here. Unless it shows up here by then. 😉
